1926 – 2015

LEWISTON — Charles O. Normand Jr., 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, at his home after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1926, a son of Charles O. Sr. and Gertrude Randall Normand.

He lived and worked his entire life in Lewiston. After years of working for local companies, he opened his own business — Charlie’s Appliance Service — which he operated until he retired in 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bertha Normand; and his three daughters, Nancy Gordon of New Sharon, Kathy Turner and husband, Terry, of Raymond and Connie Doucette and husband, Paul, of Lewiston. Charlie also leaves seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Frederick and George; and sister, Jacqueline O’Donnell.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Kappelmann and his staff, Arcadia Health Care and Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for their exemplary care and assistance in keeping Dad at home throughout his illness.
