Orono Community Theatre and Ten Bucks Theatre announce their co-production of “Death of a Salesman,” by Arthur Miller. Performances will be held at M Cyrus Pavilion Theatre on January 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 at 7 p.m. and January 18 and 25 2 p.m.

“Death of a Salesman” was the winner iof the 1949 Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Play. Its story revolves around the last days of Willy Loman, a foundering salesman, who cannot understand how he failed to win success and happiness. Through a series of tragic soul-searching revelations of the life he has lived with his wife, his sons, and his business associates, we discover how his quest for the “American Dream” kept him blind to the people who truly loved him. “Death of a Salesman” is a thrilling work of deep and revealing beauty that remains one of the most profound classic dramas of the American theatre.

This local production is directed by Julie Arnold Lisnet and supported in part by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation. Its cast includes Richard Brucher, Sandy Cyrus, Ron Lisnet, Moira Beale, Nathan Roach, Todd McKinley, Gregory and Brittney McElvaine, Abby Roseberry Rice, Bunny Barclay, Randy Hunt, Padraic Harrison and Mark Bilyk as Willy Loman.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for UMaine students with ID. They are on sale in advance at Orono Pharmacy and at the door half an hour before show time. There will be no late seating.
