1939 – 2015
SABATTUS — Elaine Marilyn Tripp passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, after a long, courageous battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.
Marilyn was born on Nov. 15, 1939, to Ernest and Julia (Snow) Fickett. She attended school in Pownal and New Gloucester, graduating from New Gloucester High School in 1958. She married Rodger E. Tripp Sr. in New Gloucester, shortly after graduating.
Marilyn enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Rodger Tripp Sr.; three sisters, Barbra Bryant of Auburn, Pat Rogers and Clara Neal of New Gloucester; a brother, Roger Fickett, of Sabattus; a daughter, Sandra and Kenneth Roberts of Mechanic Falls; a son, Rodger Tripp Jr., of New Gloucester; a daughter, Linda and Graden Wallace of Mechanic Falls; a son, James and Trina Tripp of New Gloucester; a daughter, Joan M. Tripp and Brian Lagasse of Sabattus; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Fickett, Robert Fickett, David Fickett and Bruce Fickett.
Marilyn’s family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Hospice and Elder Independence of Maine, and Dr. Cynthia Dechenes of Topsham for all their support during our mother’s illness. Without their help, it would not have been possible to keep her home.
