1932 – 2015

LEWISTON — Stella G. Bard, 82, of 20 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, died Thursday morning, Jan. 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.

She was born in Guerette on Jan. 9, 1932, a daughter of the late Steven and Mattie (Rossignol) Cyr. She was employed for many years as a stitcher in the local shoe industry. She was later employed at Philips Elmet, before retiring in 1980.

She was first married to Richard White Sr. She then married Patrick Bard in 1980; he died on Oct. 12, 2000.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Auburn and the VFW in Salem, N.H., Chapter No. 8546, Covenant 50 and the Ladies of St. Ann of St. Louis Parish.

Stella enjoyed playing bingo and gambling at the Oxford Casino.

She is survived by two sons, Richard White Jr. and his wife, Roxanne, of Auburn and Robert White of Poland; one stepson, Steven Bard and his wife, Lucie, of Methuen, Mass.; four stepdaughters, Carol Naiman and her husband, Richard, of Methuen, Mass., Mary Kool and her husband, Marty, of Tucson, Ariz., Linda Walls and her husband, Michael, of Deerfield, N.H., and Cynthia Rumore and her husband, John, of Methuen, Mass.; one brother, Reno Cyr and his wife, Eleanor, of New Britain, Conn.; five grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Brown; a stepson, Robert Bard; and several brothers and sisters.
