1960 – 2015

LEWISTON — Cynthia Jean Larsen Goodwin went to be with the Lord on the evening of Sunday, Jan. 11, with her family by her side.

The daughter of Paul I. and Jean D. (Gilbert) Larsen, Cynthia was born in Rumford on Nov. 22, 1960, and attended area schools. As a child, Cynthia was a member of Virgin Memorial Chapel’s choir, the Rainbow Girls and the local Girl Scout troop, all with her sister, Linda, by her side.

Cynthia enjoyed long summers at Howard Pond, spending time with her children and mastering puzzles of all sorts — from jigsaw to crossword. She was also an avid reader. Cynthia will be remembered for her ready smile and her happy laughter.

Cynthia is survived by her parents, Paul and Jean Larsen of Rumford; a son, Lee D. Goodwin and his wife, Sarah, of Shapleigh; a daughter, Melissa Goodwin, of Rockland; a sister, Linda Foster and her husband, Jeffrey, of Salisbury, Mass.; a brother, David Larsen and his wife, Michelle, of Rumford; two grandsons, Grayson and Weston Goodwin of Shapleigh; two nieces, Sarah and Emily Foster; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Central Maine Medical Center and Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center for their impeccable service and compassion for Cynthia and her family. The family would like to say a special thank-you to Cynthia’s cousin, Sharon Weeks, of Lewiston for her excellent advice, her never-ending support and her precious time spent with Cynthia.

Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book and share memories with the family at www.meaderandson.com.
