MECHANIC FALLS — Simonne L. Pelletier, 88, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, at the home of her son in Mechanic Falls.
She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 13, 1926, a daughter of Joseph and Emelda (Labonte) Lebrun. She grew up in Little Canada in Lewiston and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, until its closing. She was most recently a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
She was the widow of Fernand Pelletier, whom she married on Sept. 25, 1948, and who died on Oct. 1, 2008.
She worked for many years in various fabric mills, including the Continental Mill, Hill Mill and Bates Mill.
Simonne enjoyed sewing and was an avid seamstress, making clothes for herself and crocheting afghans for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Pelletier-Sammon, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her son, Paul Pelletier, of Mechanic Falls; her sisters, Exilia Beaulieu, Lucienne Giguere and husband, Joseph, Jean D’Arc Lebrun and Cecile Brodeur, all of Lewiston, and Priscille Bard of Auburn; her brother, Guy Lebrun and wife, Joanne, of Florida; her grandchildren, Jesse Pelletier of Mechanic Falls, Tammy Fecteau of Monmouth and Mark and Gregory Sammon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Fecteau and Alexis Sammon; and her sister-in-law, Marie Lebrun, of Lewiston.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Roger, Bertrand and Gerard Lebrun; and her sister, Claudette Rancourt.
