Skee Spree benefits Ski Museum of Maine
NEWRY — The first Skee Spree will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, at White Cap Base Lodge at Sunday River. The event will benefit the Ski Museum of Maine, 256 Main St., Kingfield.
From noon to 3:30 p.m. ski memorabilia will be on display. A fireside chat will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. A silent and live auction and reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Meet-and-greet new Chamber director
FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host a meet-and-greet event to welcome its new executive director. The event will be at the Chamber office at 615 Wilton Road in the Wal-Mart Plaza from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22.
Chamber members and the community are invited to stop and welcome Penny Meservier to the Chamber team. Light refreshments will be served.
Lithgow Library to celebrate Pie Day
AUGUSTA — Lithgow Public Library will hold a pie sale on Friday, Jan. 23 — which is National Pie Day — from noon to 6 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Capital Campaign to expand and renovate Lithgow Library.
A variety of homemade pies baked by library staff and volunteers, including apple, pumpkin, pecan, chocolate cream and blueberry, will be on sale.

Breakfast will be on Friday this month
RANGELEY — The next Ladies/Community Breakfast will be on Friday, Jan. 23, at Gingerbread House, Main Street, Oquossoc from 7 to 9 a.m.
For the convenience of the restaurants, not all Ladies/Community Breakfasts will be held on Wednesday this year; pay attention to the date.
If anyone has a special dietary need, please call in advance so they can try to accommodate your needs.
Special Olympics dinner, auction
JAY — Special Olympics kick-off dinner and auction will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Amvets Hall, Maine Street.
Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m., serving until 6. The auction and presentation of donations will begin at 5:30. One of the auction items is a hockey puck from the Boston Bruins signed by David Krejici.
Menu will be turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, baked beans, baked ziti, meatballs, fish chowder, turkey soup, cole slaw, biscuits and cake. Dinner is by donation.
