1932 – 2015
LEWISTON — Bertrand N. Langelier passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 13, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 82 years old.
Bert was born in Lewiston on Aug. 21, 1932, to the late Odina and Marie Anna (Carrier) Langelier. He attended Holy Family School and graduated from Lewiston High School.
After serving for two years in the U.S. Army, stationed at West Point and in Germany, he married his wife of almost 57 years, Mary Mauro, on May 24, 1958. They had six children together.
Bert was self-employed most of his life, owning several businesses, including a grain and feed business, a loam and gravel business and a used car lot for over 25 years. After retirement, he drove a bus for Western Maine Transportation for two years.
Bert loved to landscape, garden and work on his Jaguar, in which he and Mary rode many summer days. He also loved to watch the Patriots and Red Sox, even when they were losing.
We have to thank the people at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, especially, Molly, Michelle and Irene for the tremendous care and love they gave our father. We will be forever grateful.
He is loved and already missed by his wife, Mary; son, Bert and wife, Deedra; son, John and wife, Heather; daughter, Nancy Bergeron and husband, Charles; daughter, Amy Poulin and husband, John; daughter, Pamela Langelier and partner, Dana Smith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Therese Langelier and Germaine and her husband, Robert Blanchette; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Cindy, in 1960, whom he can now be with; his brother, Richard Langelier; and a sister, Simone Albert.
We are all very fortunate to have so many wonderful memories of our dear father.
Condolences may be expressed at funeralalternatives.net.
