JAY — The following events are planned at Spruce Mountain High School.

Mid-year exams

SMHS students will have mid-year exams from Tuesday, Jan. 20, to Friday, Jan. 23. An exam schedule was sent home with all students. On Tuesday and Wednesday, students must be in attendance for the entire days. Thursday and Friday schedules have exams ending at 11:30. If signed permission slips are returned, students may leave at that time.

Make-up exams will take place on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation if they choose to leave early on these days. Buses will run at the regular times.

Second quarter

The end of the second-quarter ranking period is Friday, Jan. 23.

Community contra dance

NHS and JMG are sponsoring a community contra dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, in the SMHS cafeteria. Live music will be provided by the Racket Factory. Everyone is welcome to come join the fun.

Athletics

Friday, Jan. 23: Girls basketball, home vs. MCI, JV at 5 p.m., varsity at 6:30; boys basketball at MCI, JV at 5, varsity at 6:30; alpine ski meet slalom at Titcomb Mountain, 4 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 24: Nordic ski meet, Oxford sprints, freestyle, 10 a.m.
