1932 – 2015
NORWAY — Clifford A. Morse, 82, of Norway passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, at his residence.
He was born in Norway on Dec. 4, 1932, a son of Everett and Lena (Kilpolainen) Morse. He attended schools in South Paris and graduated from South Paris High School.
Following high school, he married Trudy Thurston of Norway on April 11, 1953.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and faithfully served his country in Germany during the Korean War.
For most of his life, Cliff was a self-employed logger from the age of 40 until he was 72. He had previously worked in local shoe shops in Norway and Lewiston for over 20 years.
As a young man, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He especially enjoyed truck pulling, camping, hunting and skeet shooting. Cliff won a skeet shooting tournament in New Hampshire, beating out well-known, professional skeet shooters. He was a member of the Stone Smart American Legion Post No. 82 of Norway and the Norway-Paris Fish and Game Club as well as the Waterford Fish and Game Club.
Besides his parents, Cliff is predeceased by a brother, Richard Morse.
Surviving are his wife of Norway; two sons, Rick Morse of Norway and Stan Morse and his wife, Shari, of Norway; his daughter, Peggy Silver and her husband, Albert, of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
