1937 – 2015
SOUTH PARIS — Louise A. Lumb “Weesie,” 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 16, of cancer with her family by her side.
She was born in Dover-Fox-Croft on Dec. 18, 1937, the daughter of Mabel and Ashley Huntington, but was raised by her aunt Helen and uncle Roy of East Corinth.
After graduating high school, she moved to Massachusetts. She had nine children. She worked various jobs while raising her children as a single mom. She returned to Maine in 1981, where she finished raising her children.
Her hobbies included bingo, yard sales, playing cards, going to the casino and spending time with her family. She had a special bond with her little dog, Lily, who brightened her day.
She is survived by daughters, Ruth Shultz, Ann Lavoie, Joyce Carter and husband, Forrest, Wilma Webber and husband, Robert, Donna Pirela and husband, Jose, and Winona Bryce and husband, Peter; sons, Wayne Lumb and companion, Michelle, William Lumb and companion, Sandy, and Kenneth Lumb and wife, Donna; one brother, Earlon Cort; one sister, Eleanor Boutin; 30 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother; a brother; two grandchildren; and an aunt and uncle.
