1932 – 2015

LEWISTON — Marcel R. Leclair, 82, formerly of Webber Avenue and Meadowview Apartments in Lewiston, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at Russell Park Rehabilitation Facility.

He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 5, 1932, a son of Romeo and Jeannette (Poulin) Leclair. Marcel was educated in Lewiston schools, graduated from St. Dom’s with the Class of 1951 and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

Marcel married the former Anita C. Galarneau on June 8, 1957. She passed away in May 2005.

He was a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge.

Marcel worked for many years at Crest Shoe and later worked for a number of years at Pioneer Plastics until his retirement in 1996.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, and among his favorite enjoyments were traveling and spending time at casinos.

Marcel was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband and father who will be greatly missed.

He leaves his son, Michael Leclair of Kissimmee, Fla.; a brother, Richard E. Leclair and wife, Muriel, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Anita; and his parents.
