1949 – 2015
OXFORD — Nancy Lee Cunningham, 66, of Oxford, formerly of Lewiston, died Friday, Jan. 16, at her home.
She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 7, 1949, a daughter of the late Phillip and Loretta (Currier) Theriault. She was educated in local schools, and worked for many years in local shoe shops as a stitch marker.
Nancy enjoyed arts and crafts and could make just about anything. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and her dog, Kandi. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren. She also was a Gold Star Mother.
She leaves her three sons, Kevin Cunningham and wife, Samantha, of Lewiston, Jim Cunningham and companion, Nicole Morgan, of Lewiston and Dave Cunningham and wife, Tracy, of New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Alanskas and husband, John, of Waterboro, Judy Bellus of Lewiston and Kathy Tardif of Poland; a brother, Kenney Theriault of Sabattus; her longtime companion, Rick Winchester of Oxford; a daughter-in-law, Heather Cunningham of Massachusetts; and former daughter-in-law and dear friend, Ann Cunningham of New Hampshire.
She is predeceased by her son, Sgt. Daniel Cunningham, who died in Iraq in 2003; a sister, Joanne; and her former husband and close friend, Daniel Cunningham.
