1942 – 2015

SABATTUS — Normand S. Chaloux, 72, beloved husband of 52 years to Gloria Kirouac, formerly of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday morning, Jan. 20.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 24, 1942, the son of Aime and Lucille (Beaulieu) Chaloux. He attended Saint Peter’s School and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1960, participating as altar server and Boys Choir singers.

He later met his beloved wife, Gloria, and had two sons, Raymond and Jason, all of Lewiston, of whom he was very proud.

Normand worked many years at Supreme Slipper as a shoe cutter and later retired to help his wife in their day care in Sabattus where many children looked up to him as “Nononcle.”

His hobbies were decorating for the various holidays and beautifying the day care for the children. He adored his cats and pampered them daily. He looked forward to his long weekend rides, often ending up at Bailey Island for homemade donuts.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; two sons, Ray and his wife, Joline, and Jason and girlfriend, Kelly Johnson; one sister, Terry Rancourt and significant other, Norm Mills; one brother, Larry Chaloux and wife, Pauline; sister-in-laws, Connie Morin and husband, Aime, and Dot Lessard; and the grandchildren he thought the world of, Brandon, Luke, Alexia and Annora.
