BRUNSWICK—A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Eric J. Linkel was celebrated by the Rev. Normand Carpentier at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Trooper Desiree Wuthenow of the Maine State Police led Eric’s funeral procession to Brunswick in honor of her friends, Eric and Brenda.

During Mass, the Old Testament reading was proclaimed by Eric’s brother, Corey Linkel, the Responsorial Psalm was recited by Eric’s mother, Angela Sue Linkel, the New Testament reading was proclaimed by Eric’s brother, Jason Linkel. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Eric’s sister, Cindy Linkel. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by the Linkel grandchildren, who all carried individual flowers as gifts that were placed by Eric’s casket. Words of Remembrance were then shared by Eric’s father, John Linkel, who spoke of his family’s love of Eric and how missed he will be. A special song was then sung by Eric’s sisters-in-law, Donna and Roxanne Gallant.

The pallbearers were Dion, Lance, Guy, Corey, Jason and Jak Linkel, as well as Michael and Matthew Comeau. At the conclusion of Mass all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Brunswick. Burial will be held at a later date in the spring.
