1940 – 2015
LEWISTON — Paul S. Nadeau, 74, formerly of 178 Cook St., Auburn, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Born in Lewiston on Aug. 7, 1940, he was the son of Hubert J. Nadeau Sr. and Sybil Saucier. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’58. While participating in a Nadeau family tradition, figure skating with the LA Skating Club, he met Cecile Comeau. They were married on Nov. 11, 1960, and made their home in Auburn. Later that year, Paul attended meat-cutting school in Ohio, and had a career in meat-cutting for over 50 years. He was employed by Bonneau’s Supermarket for 25 years until they closed in 1982, followed by 21 years at Shaw’s in Brunswick and Auburn.
He was an outdoor enthusiast. Enjoying years of camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, golf and competitive archery with family and friends. He especially enjoyed his daily walks with his wife.
Besides his loving wife, Cecile of Auburn, he is survived by a son, James and wife, Deborah Roy, of Bangor; a daughter, Carmen and husband, Sam Evrard, of Poland Spring; two brothers, Hubert Jr. and wife, Lorraine, of Wales, and Roland of Hebron; sister-in-law, Diana Nadeau of Greenwood and Bonita Springs, Fla.; brother-in-law, Gerard Comeau of North Branford, Ct.; sister-in-law, Carmen Comeau and husband, Dr. Stuart Cohen, of Lewiston; and four grandchildren, Kayla Nadeau of Athens, Ga., Sara Nadeau of Boston, Mass., Meleah Roy of Seattle, Wash., and Cameron Roy of Castine.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Maurice; and sisters-in-law, Sallie Comeau and Colette Nadeau.
