RUMFORD — Selectmen have scheduled three executive sessions for Thursday night’s regular meeting at 7 p.m. in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

The closed-door sessions include a personnel matter, Public Works union negotiations and a personnel matter with the town manager.

The meeting will be preceded at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation by local economic development group Envision Rumford on the sidewalk reconstruction project.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be opened with public hearings on routine taxi license requests for Mountain Valley Taxi, Private Taxi, EZ Taxi and Veterans Taxi. Under new business, approvals for those licenses, respectively, will be sought by Matthew Bean, Gilbert Gary Scott and Charles Proffitt (for both EZ Taxi and Veteran’s Taxi).

Another routine matter is approving the annually-requested waiver by Sunday River Farms to transport perishable produce.

Other agenda items include the approval of bidding for the 134 Penobscot St. lot, approval of a criminal forfeiture transfer, a personal property abatement request from the tax collector and discussions on the budget process, and a request from Regional School Unit 10.

Police chief Stacy Carter said Wednesday afternoon that he will seek the board’s acceptance of $807 for the Police Department per its assistance with a criminal case investigation.

That case hasn’t been resolved yet and the department may not even be awarded the money by the Attorney General’s Office. But should the office decide to award the money to the Rumford Police Department for its assistance, Carter said selectmen must first approve the seizure disbursement.
