Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 16. A six-table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A were Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Pete Cummings (South Paris), second were Rosemarie Goodwin (Lewiston) and Mike True (Auburn), third were Hazel Glazier (Norway) and Marta Clements (Woodstock), fourth were Bob Kirchherr (South Paris) and Les Buzzell (Auburn).

Finishing first in flight B were Hank Sakrison (Poland) and Denny Raymond (Waterford), second were Cathy Sanderson (Waterford) and Carol Curran (Waterford), third were Milt McKeen (Bridgton) and Jim Krainin (Naples), fourth were Diane and Jim Fallon (Bridgton).

Games are held every Friday at 9:15 a.m. in the Rec Building on King Street. A partner is guaranteed. All bridge players are invited. For information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153 or 754-9153 or email [email protected].

Cancellation due to weather is based on SAD 17 cancellation; if school is out, bridge is out.

Books wanted for fair, breakfast

NORWAY — Norway/Paris Kiwanis Club is seeking new and used children’s books. Donations are needed for the annual Dr. Seuss Breakfast and Children’s Book Fair.

Drop-off locations are Norway Savings Bank, 261 Main St., Norway; Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, 4 Western Ave., South Paris; Hair Plus, 41 Paris St., Norway; and TD Bank, 1586 Main St., Oxford.

Socrates Cafe to discuss climate change

WATERFORD — Socrates Cafe meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at Waterford Library.

Adult craft night at the library

NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library invites adults for an evening of jewelry crafting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Participants will make fun necklaces out of Scrabble tiles and bookmarks out of library date-due cards. Get out of the house and make some fun and funky gifts for your Valentine.
