1941 – 2015

LEWISTON — Carole A Dorion, 73, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

Carole was born in Rumford on Feb. 15, 1941, to Rene and Irene Arsenault of Rumford. She was married on Oct. 7, 1961, to her beloved husband, Gerard E. Dorion, also of Peru. During their 53 years of marriage, they had four children: Lennie, Shelley, William and Duane.

Carole thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of her close and extended family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially at Christmastime. She always took extra time and care to find just that special gift for each and every one of her kids.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and, on many occasions, catered many family events, such as weddings and anniversaries, and also made sandwiches for the Holy Savior super bingo.

Carole loved to play cards and cribbage, which she competitively played every morning with her husband for a dollar per game. She loved her time at bingo and time spent at Foxwoods and the Oxford Casino.

She was a 1959 graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford and a faithful communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior Catholic Church. She was a woman full of life and laughter and will be especially remembered by her family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gerard E. Dorion, of Peru; her son, Leonard G. Dorion and wife, Trina, of Bangor; her daughter, Shelley I. Dorion, of Milford; and her son, Duane H. Dorion and wife, Catherine, of Dixfield. She was loved by her six grandchildren, Samantha Dorion, Katie (Dorion) Chambers, Brittany Dorion, Rene Dorion, Hannah Dorion and Bennett Dorion; and four great-grandchildren, Colby Chambers, Lily Chambers, Bella Chambers and Khloe Watson. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Dayon, wife of the late Hector Dayon, Judy Bosworth and husband, John Bosworth, of Mexico and Sharon Marigliano and husband, Rick, of Wolfeboro, N.H.; and many special nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

She was predeceased and is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Rene and Irene Arsenault; and her beloved infant son, William E. Dorion.
