1920 – 2014

VALLEY COTTAGE, N.Y. — Gladyse H. Donsbach, 94, peacefully passed away on Christmas morning, Dec. 25, 2014, in Valley Cottage, N.Y., with her husband of 68 years, Weldon, at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, on Sept. 28, 1920, to Oscar Sr. and Elsie (Scheibner) Hahnel.

She married her husband on June 19, 1946, at Grace Lutheran Church in Auburn.

She lived for 20 years in Bethel, Conn., and was active at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, Conn., as well as the Danbury Gardening Club and the Danbury Chorus.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sister-in-law, Julia Hahnel; three children and their spouses, Ruth and Keith Dalen, Leonard Donsbach and Carlene and Stu Bassell; five grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Bridget Dalen, Amy and Shaun Garry, Jeremy Dalen, Timothy Bassell and Gregory Bassell; two great-grandchildren, expected soon; and many nieces and nephews.
