1939 – 2015
AUBURN — Laurier L. Potvin, 76, of Auburn passed away from natural causes on Thursday, Jan. 22, at his home.
He was born in Auburn on Jan. 5, 1939, a son of the late Rene and Irma (Chenard) Potvin. He grew up in the Auburn area and attended local schools. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1958.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country.
On May 6, 1961, he married Arlene Major at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston.
Laurier worked in the shoe industry for various shoe manufacturers for more than 45 years. In 1988, he took courses and received his Class 1 truck driver’s license.
He will always be remembered for being an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Arlene of Auburn; and his four children, Michael of Auburn, Ronald of Lewiston, Mark of Greene and Stacey Colburn of Auburn. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kendyll, Dustin, and Mark Jr. Potvin, and Colton, Colin and Camden Colburn; and great-granddaughter, Kiya Mae Potvin.
