LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Normand S. Chaloux was celebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul of the Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home.

At the beginning of Mass, Normand’s immediate family draped his casket with a white burial pall signifying Normand’s baptism into a new spiritual life with God.

During Mass, a scripture reading was proclaimed by Normand’s cousin, Denise Foss. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Normand’s niece, Kayla Guerette. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Normand’s daughter-in-law, Joline Chaloux, and Normand’s granddaughters, Annora Johnson and Alexia Chaloux.

During the funeral procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Androscoggin County Chief Deputy William Gagne assisted with traffic control at the entrance to the cemetery from Main Street as a tribute to Normand and his son, Jason Chaloux, a fellow officer with the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department. The pallbearers were Jean Roux, Brian Rancourt, Brandon, Luke and Chad Chaloux and Ron Morin.

Upon arrival to the cemetery, the Rev. Caron recited committal prayers. At the conclusion of services, all were invited to join the family for a reception of fellowship at Governor’s Restaurant in Lewiston.

Arrangements were by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston.
