The Annual International Fire, Police and Military Winter Games Hockey Tournament, Battle on Ice, was held during Martin Luther King week at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee and the Norway Savings Bank Arena in the Twin Cities.
The teams were broken down into two divisions based on the skill level of their team. They played two days of preliminary rounds that consisted of three games each. After the three games, the final four teams were selected from each division.
The finals, held Sunday, are as follows:
The Gold Medal Game “A” Division: Sanford PD 4, Lewiston PD 3; The Gold Medal Game “B” Division: St. Johns New Brunswick PD 9, Fallen Ambulance 1; The Bronze Medal Game “A” Division: Maine Air N ational Guard 6, Somerville FD 3; The Bronze Medal Game “B” Division: NYPD Old Timers 6, Old Colony Police & Fire 5
Over the weekend a total of $5,038 was raised for the Shriners Hospital For Children in Boston.
