1924 – 2015

LEWISTON — Lorraine T. Tardif, 90, of Lewiston, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, where she had resided for the past two years.

She was born in Westbrook on May 23, 1924, a daughter of Edward and Valeirie (Mineault) Gagnon. She graduated from Lewiston High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing.

On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Roger J. Tardif, and together raised their children.

“Little Miss Sunshine,” as she was affectionately known in school, had a rewarding career in nursing, starting as a shift nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital, followed by private duty work at Marcotte Home, Montello Manor and Clover Manor.

Her real joy was always doing for others, especially for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
