1933 – 2015

NORWAY — Gordon E. Harthorne, 81, of Norway, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Gordon was born in Norway on Sept. 18, 1933, a son of Richard and Esther (Ray) Harthorne. He attended Norway schools and graduated from Norway High School in the Class of 1952.

He worked at Stephens Memorial Hospital in the maintenance department with his brother, Larry, for many years and retired from there. Prior to the hospital, Gordon worked at Francine Shoe in Norway for several years.

He lived in Norway all of his life and married Earla C. Little on July 4, 1960.

Gordon enjoyed woodworking and collecting cars.

Surviving are his beloved wife of Norway; two daughters, Evette Damon of South Carolina and Linda Hall and her husband, Christopher, of Peru; three sons, Michael St. John of Norway, Terry St. John and his longtime companion, Barbara Kozak, of Norway and Greg Harthorne and his wife, Amber, of Auburn; a brother, Larry Harthorne and his wife, Paige, of South Paris; a sister-in-law, Karen Harthorne, of Sanford; and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ray Harthorne.
