You’ve been having fun with the Channel 8 stuff haven’t you? I know a guy who was chief engineer there some years ago, Dick Cushman from Norway, but I think he is now retired. I haven’t spoken with him for a few years, but I’ll bet he would have the answers to the problems some folks have had. He is smarter than a whip and a heck of a nice guy as well.

Like everyone else, I read your column every day, and now that I think about it, Kalle Oakes must be on vacation right? I.haven’t seen his name in the sports pages lately. I know Kalle from when we used to see each other at the high school basketball tournament in Augusta.

Keep up the good work. — Al Ibarguen, Wilton

ANSWER: If Sun Spots ever had any doubt about how much television people watch, doing this column put it to rest. It is one of the lead categories for questions, and provides some of the most difficult to answer. The engineer at WMTW Sun Spots spoke to had a different name, but she is always open to information from experts, retired or otherwise.

Yes, Kalle had a well-deserved couple of weeks off after the holidays. As you’ve undoubtedly noticed, he is back now.
