RUMFORD — Family Fun Day will be held from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Hosmer Field ice rink, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Director Mike Mills said plans to open the rink in time for Christmas fell through because of weather conditions.

The 25-year-old ice rink has been the site of Family Fun Day for the past eight to 10 years, he said.

“It’s all free,” Mills said. “We have free skates for people to use, whether they’re kids or adults, and a bunch of gliders for those who are handicapped and want to skate.”

From 4 to 6 p.m., members of the Parks and Recreation Department and Board of Directors will have a bonfire next to the rink, with hot dogs and hot cocoa served.

“It should be a lot of fun,” Mills said. “It’s been a popular event for awhile in Rumford.”
