GILEAD — Albert A. “Joe” Gaudreau, 77, of Gilead, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, at his residence.
Joe was born in Aurora on Oct. 10, 1937, a son of Paul and Gertrude (Micue) Gaudreau, and attended local schools.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1963, and he married Alfreda Leighton on April 29, 1960.
Joe worked for Brooks Brothers Plumbing and Heating in Bethel for 32 years, retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He lived in Gilead for 51 years.
Surviving are his wife of Gilead; two sons, Jody Gaudreau and his wife, Debbie, of West Bethel, and Willie Gaudreau and his wife, Patty, of Waterford; a daughter, Debbie Luxton and her husband, Donny, of West Bethel; a sister, Pauline Hall of Cape Elizabeth; a brother-in-law, Alfred T. Leighton and his wife, Sharon, of Gilead; four grandchildren, Joseph Gaudreau and his family, Paul Gaudreau, Jenna Gaudreau and Tashawna Gaudreau; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Harold “Buster,” Pete and Bob Gaudreau.
