1932 – 2015
WEST PARIS — Carolyn J. Witter, 82, of South Paris, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Ledgeview Living Center.
Carolyn was born in Bethel on Feb. 24, 1932, a daughter of Philip and Nellie (Jodrey) Daye, and attended Bethel schools.
She worked at ECHO Wood Products for many years and also owned and operated Half Moon Dairy Bar in Bethel. Most recently, she was a babysitter for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed knitting but liked being “Nana” the most. She also enjoyed snowmobiling in past years.
Carolyn married Glynn Witter on April 16, 1948. He died on June 12, 2003. She is also predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Michael and wife, Gail, of Bethel, Ronnie and his wife, Barbara, of Lebanon and Philip and his wife, Melissa, of Rehoboth, Mass.; two daughters, Bonnie Carver and her husband, Jeffrey, of Norway, and Audrey Witter of West Paris; a brother, Edward Daye of Norway; five sisters, Patricia Daye of Rumford, Pearl Phillips of Rumford, Audrey Mixer of Bath, Tamarra Newell of Norway and Donna Daye of West Paris; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
