FARMINGTON — Native Oak, a Farmington-based band that has been playing mostly local venues for over 15 years, will be playing at the North Church on Saturday, Feb. 7. The band specializes is acoustic songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s, ranging from folk, country, soft rock to bluegrass and traditional music.
Artists covered include John Prine, John Hiatt, Jackson Browne, Lyle Lovett, Bob Dylan, Moody Blues, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Old Crow Medicine Show to the Beatles.
They have opened twice for the Kingfield POP summer concerts and have played at numerous festivals and benefits throughout Maine. Native Oak plays regularly at the Homestead Bakery.
Band members include Bill Colwell of New Sharon who plays a mean mandolin, guitar and provides vocals; Randy Gauvin of Farmington on the acoustic guitar, harmonica and banjo, as well as vocals; and Mike Worthley of Phillips who plays guitar, the button accordion and vocals.
