1931 – 2015

TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — Barbara Sands Campbell, 83, of Florida, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 14, 1931, and raised in Auburn. She graduated from Edward Little High School and Central Maine General Hospital, with a registration in nursing.

Barbara moved from Maine to Treasure Island, Fla., in the late 1950s, where she met and married Bob and continued her nursing career for many years.

She was a longtime member of St. Giles Episcopal Church, volunteering on the Altar Guild and working in the food pantry. She was active with her children in Scouting and enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, traveling and antiquing.

Surviving are her children, Karen, Kathy, Judy and Rob; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, both in Maine and Florida.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob.
