AUGUSTA — The 21st annual Changing Maine Gathering slated to help Mainers assert local control over their communities in the face of corporate mega projects will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Randall Student Center at the University of Maine at Augusta.
The day’s events will unfold with an emphasis on the power of story, with successful and continuing campaigners of various local organizing efforts sharing anecdotes and ideas about taking on large-scale industrial projects.
Workshops that focus on foundational principles of corporate opposition, strategic planning, effective targeting, and sound tactics will be offered in addition to intentional networking opportunities.
The gathering is open to the public. Cost for the day is between $0-20 to make it affordable for all.
Child care is available to those who pre-register, and lunch is included.
To register, go to resourcesforsocialchange.org/index.php/projects or calling Sass Linneken at 207-607-2571.
