Denny Breau, renowned guitarist, will open the Turner Center 2015 “Cabin Fever Concert Series” with a Valentine’s concert 7 p.m., Friday, Feb.13th, at The First Universalist Church in Turner Center on Rt. 117. The concert will take place upstairs in the church. Breau comes by his musical genes naturally, as he is the son of the late Hal “Lone Pine” Perkins and Betty Cody, both noted peformers in their own right, and the brother of Lenny Breau, guitarist extraordinaire. Inducted into the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004, he is its youngest inductee to date. The concert is sponsored by the Universalist Church, and donations for these concerts will support aspiring musicians in the community. The concert will be followed by “Desserts with Denny” downstairs. Other concerts in the Friday Cabin Fever series include: March 20, Bates acappella group the Dean’smen, and other Bates musical groups; April 17 Klesmer duo, Rabbi Sruli his wife, Lisa; and on May 9, Kevin and Bryce Libby, cabaret style show tunes, and country fare.
