1940 – 2015

LEWISTON — JoAnne R. Magoon, 74, of Dixfield, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 19, 1940, to parents Cleon and Margaret (Tidswell) Sampson. She married her late husband, Dale Magoon, on Aug. 8, 1959.

JoAnne enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.

She worked at Hawthorne’s Funeral Home, Keegan’s Ambulance Service and Food Trend.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina and Deanna Magoon; her sisters, Linda Gauthier and her husband, Robert, and Dianne Hammond and her significant other, James Irish; her brothers, Arthur Sampson and Wayne Sampson and his wife, Edith; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

JoAnne was predeceased by her husband, Dale Magoon; her parents; and a brother, Robert Sampson.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Donna Shields for her love and support, and to the staff in the cardiac care unit at CMMC for the care they provided.
