1924 – 2015
SOUTH PARIS — Paul R. Murray, 90, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 7, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.
He was born in Mechanic Falls on Dec. 30, 1924, a son of Paul A. and Floris (Hartford) Murray. Paul was a military veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a gunner stationed in Hawaii, until his honorable discharge.
On July 27, 1968, he married the former Barbara Ouellette.
Following his time in the service, he worked many years in the Lewiston-Auburn area as a construction worker and painter, until his retirement.
Paul enjoyed fishing and couldn’t pass up a good garage sale. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Barbara Murray, of Lewiston; two sisters, Barbara Gillian of Lewiston and Doreen Sargent of Mechanic Falls; two stepsons, David Ouellette and wife, Lisa, of Lewiston and Daniel Ouellette and companion, Wendy Bolding, also of Lewiston; a stepdaughter, Diane Lane and husband, Ron, of Sabattus; five grandchildren, Chris, Bill and Shawn Spencer, Jessie Castonguay and Amber Bissonnette; and five great-grandchildren.
