PARIS — The Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited will present a program, “Fly Fishing 101,” from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at The First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St.
The program is geared to anyone interested in or curious about fly fishing. There will be four presentations: Understanding Fly Tackle with Dick Walthers, Master Maine Guide, explaining the fly rod, reel, line, leader and fly; The Biology of fish /Natural Foods for Fish, with John Wight, Master Maine Guide, explaining the fish’s world of water and how they function in it; Fly-Fishing Tactics, with Jim Mullen, fly tyer extraordinaire, explaining still water and moving water; and How to Fly Cast, with Mike McCue, F.F.F, certified casting instructor, explaining conventional casting and fly casting and the four-part cast.
