1919 – 2015
CANTON — Emily F. Pike, 95, a former resident of Livermore, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Victorian Villa Rehabilitation, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1919, a daughter of Percy M. Brown and Mary F. (Clayton) Brown. She was a graduate of Canton High School.
On June 1, 1938, she married Kenneth Pike in Livermore; they were married for 61 years, before his death in 1999. Together, they raised three sons, John, Philip and Harold, and one daughter, Mary.
Emily was a devoted homemaker. She packed apples at Leavitt Orchards, packed eggs at Arthur Boothby’s and worked in the cafeteria at Livermore Falls High School for 17 years.
She was a member of Eaton Memorial Methodist Church in Livermore Falls, the New Norland Grange, the Livermore Ladies Circle and the Livermore Cooperative Extension. Emily was also a 4-H leader, tutored children, enjoyed knitting and loved entertaining and volunteering at the Victorian Villa.
Emily was a kind and loving person and will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her three sons, John Pike and his wife, Carole, Philip and his wife, Carrie, and Harold and his wife, Patty, all of Livermore; her daughter, Mary Lerman and her husband, Marvin, of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Martha Hines, formerly of Jay; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken, in 1999; sisters, Marion Whittemore and Esther Davis; brothers, Arthur and Donald Brown; and a granddaughter, Sarah Pike.
