1936 – 2015
AUBURN — Charles L. Wallace, 78, a resident of Rachel Street in Sabattus, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with his loving family by his side following a long illness.
He was born in Waldoboro on Dec. 30, 1936, a son of Lowell and Ava Wallace. Charles attended Waldoboro schools, graduating from Waldoboro High School; during school, he played baseball and basketball.
Charles was past president of the Maine Poultry and New England Poultry Association. He was employed for 30 years with Dorothy Egg Farm in Winthrop, retiring on Nov. 11, 2011.
He enjoyed candlepin bowling at L&A Lanes, Auburn Lanes and Good Time Lanes in Lisbon.
Survivors include his wife, Janet, of Sabattus; four daughters, Sandra Prince and husband, Hal, of Clermont, Fla., Tina Weden and husband, Sam, of South Portland, Nancy Linehan and husband, David, of Lewiston and Sonya Wallace of Ocoee, Fla.; one brother, Lowell Wallace Jr. and companion, Debbie Knight, of Waldoboro; and two sisters, Anne Knott of Damariscotta and Jean Fales and husband, Rusty, of Warren. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Matt, Noah, Brianna, Alyssa, Stephanie, Brian, Kevin and Sarah; as well as three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Micheala and Delaney.
