1947 – 2015

AUBURN — Daniel P. “Pontiac Slim” St. Cyr, 67, of River Road, Mexico, died Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Hospice House, Auburn.

He was born in Rumford on June 17, 1947, a son of Eugene P. and Mildred J. (Casey) St. Cyr, and graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1965.

Dan worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 28 years, until retirement. He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church. He was a member of the Downeast Street Rods Club and a founding member of the Western Maine Street Rods.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially snowmobiling, riding in his hot rod with his hot rod family and spending time with his family. Dan had a special place in his heart for Camp Sunshine, where he spent so much time with his late daughter, Danielle, and his family.

He was married in Wilton on May 16, 1970, to Janice Bucklin, who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include daughter, Desiree St. Cyr of Dixfield; son, Darren St. Cyr of Westbrook; granddaughter, Sydney St. Cyr of Westbrook; and the “other daughter,” Melissa Lyons of Mexico.
