Senior luncheon at Anderson Staples
OXFORD — On Tuesday, Feb. 24, a senior luncheon will be held at the post home of Anderson Staples Post 112 on King Street.
The festivities will begin at noon. There will be music, cards and door prizes.
Anyone is invited to attend. A small donation will be accepted.

Lavender to be Grange topic
FARMINGTON — Farmington Grange No. 12 will offer a glimpse of spring when it presents local herbalist Janet Edwards speaking on “The History, Uses and the Growing of Lavender” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Grange Hall in West Farmington.
Edwards, known as Mountain Mama of Maine, has spent 30 years growing and wild-gathering medicinal plants here in Western Maine. Her healing balms, salves, lotions and other herbal products have been selling locally, at fairs and festivals and online for over 17 years. She is also a regular featured speaker at the Common Ground Country Fair.
Lavender is one of the longest used and best loved medicinal and culinary herbs in the world. Its many uses and cultivation here in Maine will be discussed.
