BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats held a potluck lunch and meeting at Crescent Park School on Jan. 11.
Maine Democratic Party Chair Phil Bartlett of Gorham and Vice-chair Peggy Schaffer of Vassalboro were in attendance and led a discussion of the 2014 election and plans for the 2016 cycle.
Business items included election of Colin O’Neill of Oxford to fill a vacancy on the Maine Democratic State Committee and electing officers for 2015-16. Cathy Newell of Greenwood was elected as chair, Irene Kuchta of Hanover as vice-chair, Roy Gedat of Norway as treasurer and Jane Chandler of Woodstock as secretary for the 2015-16 cycle. Callie Pecunies of Albany Township was elected as the chair’s alternate to the Democratic State Committee.
Plans are in the works for meetings throughout the late winter and spring and for the annual field trip to the State House.
