CARRABASSETT VALLEY — A skier from Nova Scotia was listed in critical condition Wednesday after he was found lying on a trail at Sugarloaf, officials said.

Kyle Henderson, 20, of White’s Lake was found lying in the middle of Boom Auger trail around 10:30 a.m., Carrabassett Valley police Chief Mark Lopez said. A NorthStar ambulance took Henderson to a helicopter, which flew him to a Lewiston hospital, he said.

A nursing supervisor at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston said Wednesday night that Henderson was in critical condition.

Lopez said another skier found Henderson, who apparently fell but didn’t strike anything. The accident is still under investigation.
