OXFORD — A winter carnival and chili and chowdah challenge will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Oxford Recreation Center, King Street.

Activities include music with a DJ, snow painting, snow and ice skating games with medals, a snowshoe race, giant chess, and snow sculpture contest.

Hot cocoa and warm gingerbread will be available.

Chili and chowder will be served at noon. Judging will end at 12:45 p.m.

Winner will be awarded a certificate and bragging rights.

Entries are still being accepted.

Snow date will be Feb. 22.
