1925 – 2015

BATH — Marguerite Argentine Tremblay, 90, formerly of 263 Meadowview Park, Lewiston, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Winship Green Nursing Center.

Born on Jan. 1, 1925, in Denain, France, she was the daughter of Giordano and Elisa Cavaletto Pippinato.

She lived in France until 1946, when she immigrated to the United States as the wife of Fernand Tremblay. They raised three children in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

Surviving their mother are Francine, the wife of Jean Ouellette, of Phippsburg, Claude Tremblay and his wife, Barbara, of Greenville, S.C., and Andre Tremblay and his wife, Kathryn, of Bow, N.H. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Daniele Levy of Sudbury, Mass., and James Ouellette of Seattle, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Harrison Levy of Sudbury, Mass.; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fernand, in 2004.

Better known as “Argentine,” she loved to cook. She and her husband, Fernand, owned and operated Argentine’s French Restaurant in Turner for over 25 years.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her.

A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath, who cared for her during these past nine years and who became part of her family. She was loved and will be missed.
