1924 – 2015

AUBURN — Marion F. Sylvester, 90, formerly of Durham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, Feb. 18, at Clover Manor.

She was born in Durham on July 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Ashley and Frances (Thompson) Sylvester. She grew up in the area and attended local schools, graduating from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1942.

After high school, Marion went to work for the Hartford/New Haven Railroad for 34 years, until her retirement in 1976.

Marion was always very fond of gardening, flowers, her pets and Big Band music. She will be forever remembered for her smile and contentment, and never had a complaint about anything.

She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Sylvester of Sebring, Fla., and Raymond Sylvester of New Gloucester; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Marion was predeceased by a sister, Laura Arnold.
