1978 – 2015

AUBURN — Matthew B. Poirier, 36, of 20 North Hatch Hill Road in Greene, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 14, 1978, the son of Bertrand J. and Donna C. (Paladino) Poirier and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Leavitt High School, Class of 1997.

Matthew enjoyed watching and critiquing movies. He loved everything and anything to do with Star Wars and Star Trek. He enjoyed bowling, drawing, going to Westside and working at Walmart, fishing, playing Trouble, preparing and splitting firewood for the upcoming winters and sports cars, especially Corvettes.

He always looked forward to the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. He absolutely loved battery-operated animated Christmas and other holiday figurines.

Matthew’s dream came true when he visited Walt Disney World last year.

He is survived by his parents, Bertand J. and Donna C. Poirier of Greene; one brother, Anthony J. Poirier of Brunswick and his fiancee, Jennifer Slocum, of Parsonsfield; and his nephew, Jackson D. Poirier of Brunswick.
