1977 – 2015

PORTLAND — Joseph Walter Bennett, 37, of Oxford, died Saturday, Feb. 21, at Maine Medical Center.

Born July 8, 1977, in Lewiston, he was the son of Charles Russell (deceased). He was a member of the Knights of Pythias in Stoneham and enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting comic books and spending time with his children.

He worked for Cole-Man’s Concrete for many years, doing hardwood flooring and for local housing manufacturers.

He is survived by his mother, Lena Bennett, of Oxford; children, Skye and Zayn Bennett of Oxford; paternal grandmother, Mary Russell, of South Paris; sister, Gabrielle Russell-Berg, of South Paris; uncle, Danny Bennett and wife, Janice, of Milton Plantation; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles Russell; paternal grandfather, Isaac Russell; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Joyce Bennett.
