PARIS — A Mexico man who pleaded guilty two months ago to having sex with a minor was arrested over the weekend on a charge of stealing marijuana plants.

Izaak J. Blood, 20, appeared in Oxford County Superior Court on Monday afternoon to face charges of felony burglary, theft and violation of release. He was not required to enter a plea and is scheduled to appear in court in May. Bail on the new charges was set at $1,000 cash.

On Friday, police received a call from a man in Hanover who noticed his door had been pried open and four marijuana plants taken, according to Oxford County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joshua Wyman.

Wyman said the homeowner believed two men entered his home. Their faces were captured on a wildlife camera positioned over its entrance, he said. After posting the photos on Facebook, other users allegedly identified one of the men as Blood, and another as a relative, the deputy said.

Wyman said Blood confessed that he went inside with the intent to steal the plants.

A woman who reportedly drove Blood to the home, entered it and fled after getting scared is expected to have her case presented to the grand jury, according to Wyman.

A relative of Blood who allegedly took part in the burglary could also face charges, Wyman said.

It was not known if the marijuana plants were medicinal; their owner was not arrested.

Blood could face jail time or other penalties because the alleged criminal conduct jeopardizes an agreement struck two months ago with prosecutors.

In January, he pleaded guilty to a single count of gross sexual assault after admitting to having sex with a girl who was under the age of 13, a Class A crime that carries a maximum prison sentence of 30 years.

In a deal with the District Attorney’s Office, sentencing was delayed two years, with the agreement that if there was no further criminal conduct Blood would be able to plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge and receive a suspended prison sentence.

A motion to revoke bail has been filed with the court.
