1934 – 2015
PORTLAND — Aldea “Al” T. (Lacombe) Dragoon, 81, a resident of Cote Drive in Poland, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Monday, March 2, at Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Jay on March 2, 1934, the daughter of Alphonse and Adrienne (Fournier) Beaudette. She was a graduate of Jay High School.
Following her education, she worked in various shoe shops, after which she was an administrative assistant for several area businesses. She found her true passion in real estate, a profession she loved as it allowed her to meet and help so many people.
Because of her personality, warm smile and unconditional love, many people she met immediately became her lifelong friends and extended family. She was most happy spending time with her family, and was especially fond of the babies and many pets who came into her life.
Survivors include her husband, Peter Dragoon Jr., of Poland; four sons, David Dubord and wife, Nancy, of Lewiston, Michael Lacombe and wife, Linda, of Lewiston, Roland Lacombe and wife, Brenda, of Brunswick and Richard Dragoon and wife, Sheila, of Inosburg, Vt.; and two daughters, Anna Faunce and husband, Gordon, of Lewiston and Rita Heller and husband, “CB,” of Miami, Fla. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Neila “PIB” Nelke.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Dubord; her second husband, Bertrand Lacombe; and her brothers, Rene Beaudette and Clarence Beaudette.
Special thanks to the medical staff of Central Maine Medical Center, MMC and Interim Health Care, and to her caregiver, Mariette Berttelli.
