FARMINGTON — Dummy Downhill! will be held Saturday, March 7, in front of the Titcomb Mountain Ski Lodge.

Judging of the dummies will start at 1 p.m. The competition will begin immediately after the judging. The dummies will be judged in the following categories: originality or most creative, best workmanship, fastest time, longest distance, most spectacular crash and overall winner.

There also will be a second event for the dummies. Any dummies that survive the first run may be entered in a jump competition. Prizes for the jump competition will be given for the longest jump and the most spectacular crash.

Entry fee is $5 per dummy. Dummies must be a minimum of two feet in height. Weight cannot exceed 75 pounds. Entrants are responsible for clean up and disposal of dummies. No pyrotechnics are allowed.

A wide range of materials are acceptable, including wood, plastic, paper mache, paper, styrofoam and metal fasteners. Materials of great weight should not be used.

Titcomb Mountain will be closed on Mondays and Fridays after this weekend. The planned closing date is March 15, although the mountain will be open on weekends as long as conditions allow.
